Phantom Love
Spring 2009

Waves Crash near him on the beach
He mourns his Beloved now far out of reach
Gone from him like the dew of morning
From his face, water meets the ocean

"Oh Love, My Love, Where can you be?"
"Hast fell down to the sea?"
"Oh Love, My Love, I hard now plea!"
"Hast the darkness bound ye?"

Into his boat he had now climb
Placing shore behind him
His strengthened arms hold sea at bay
And left the Light behind them

"Oh Love, My Love, I wait for he,"
"Hast refuge found for me!"
"Oh Love, My Love, Come out, come thee,"
"And bring shore back for me!"

"Oh Love, My Love, I come for she"
"Though wretched waves crash over me!"
"Oh Love, My Love, Worry not be,"
"I come to rescue thee!"

The waves grow angry; his boat o'er-turned
Within the ocean depths he could not stand
Watery fingers drag him to death
Yet still he kicked on, enduring the test

"Oh Love, My Love, Hast perily,"
"Risked your life to rescue me!"
"I wait here now eternally,"
"For sea and storm hast taken thee!"

The waves lick 'round figure on the sand
Brow lie cold, he will not stand
His Love un-rescued, could not be
For he fell Love into the sea

"Oh Love, My Love, lie here I see,"
"Must wait in need eternally!"
"Oh Love, my Love, Your urgent plea,"
"Wast naught to all; All but me!"

His life now spent, the search in vain,
He cast a death-glance 'cross the plain,
Of foam-white ocean, passed beach-grown trees;
There stood she
Can someone say "writers' block"?
That's right. I've resorted to raising ghosts to life till I get some inspiration to actually write something new and more worthwhile.
